History Of Toledo Spain - Toledo has a rich history: in 193 A.D. Marco Fulvio Nobilior conquers the city and then the Romans rebuild the city and call it Toletum in the province of Carthage. The iron industry develops greatly, the city even minting coins. In 411 the city was conquered by the Alans who were then defeated in 418 by the Visigoths. In 711 the city was conquered by Tarik and subjected to Muslim domination. The majority of the population was Mozarabic (Christian population under Muslim domination). In 1025 Alfonso VI of Leon and Castile entered Toledo and became the new king, signing an agreement that guaranteed the security and material goods of the Muslim population. In the Middle Ages, the city developed as a powerful industrial center. After the outbreak of the 20th century civil war, the city remained in the Republican area, and the Alcazar (built during the Roman era as a garrison) was under siege for more than 2 months, until the arrival of General Varela's troops (September 28, 1936), being an asset of the Francoist forces. Later in 1983, Toledo was elected the capital of the Community of Castilla - La Mancha with a regional government.
The name Toledo is given to several localities in the following countries: the United States, Colombia, the Philippines, Belize or Uruguay.

There are a few tourist attractions that I have seen, liked and that must be seen by those who visit the city of Toledo: first of all, from the central square of Zocodover (a mostly pedestrian square where there is also a tourist information point), you can start walking up to the Alcazar, the monument that dominates the city of Toledo from the hills and which had a military garrison during the Roman Empire, then it was transformed by King Carlos V into a royal palace and after the battles during the civil war it was rebuilt and in a large hall there is the museum of white weapons, or to the city cathedral, the second imposing monument of the city of Toledo, whose construction began in 1221. In the square in front of the cathedral, shows or small mobile markets are organized. Unfortunately, I saw that it is not open to the public.
Or from the Zocodover square you can get off at walking distance on bus line 41 or 42 to the new and old Bisagra gate. Distance approximately 1.5 kilometers. We passed through these gates. At the old gate you can read the name of Imael Al-Zafir ( 1032-1044 ) and if we refer to the inscriptions on the tiles we can guess that it was founded in the first part of the 11th century.
I was fascinated to visit the Iglesia de los Jesuitas church, to be able to pray and meditate, to be able to reach the twin towers of the church from where I admired a wonderful view of the city and I took some superb pictures.

- You can visit churches such as San Juan de los Reyes or Iglesia de los Jesuitas.
- You can leave Toledo with a lot of souvenirs (models of the Cathedral, the Alcazar, Don Quijote, Toledo swords, Toledo knives, handmade or gilded plates, etc.) at very affordable prices.
- It is a quiet town with quiet people where you can relax (the population exceeds 77,000 inhabitants).
- It is easy to get to the capital of Spain and the city has numerous taxis or bus lines (the taxis are white).
